A LITTLE INSPIRATION . . . .
. . . . Goes a long way. I'm just a sucker for all those winter touches in red and green with a bit of snow thrown in. Ivy and red berries are make gorgeous bouquets this time of year (or any time of year for that matter). Throw a bit of pine in and you have a real Winter bouquet. The head wreath below of ivy and roses works summer and winter both; and of course who wouldn't love to ride in a one-horse open sleigh . . . .?

IT'S A WRAP!
Now that we're into sub-zero temps in some climes, here's a little more on wrapping up. Check out these wraps, boleros and stoles for staying warm and chic once the snow gets going. It's a real cinch to add a bit of elegance to the overall look you're creating when you add fur (real, friendly or faux). FYI if you're wondering, friendly furs come to us by way of feathers (birds) and lamb fur that's simply shorn off the beast every summer so the creature won't sweat to death. I ran across the bottom images in SMP's Gallery and put together this inspiration board to help you along. I'd love to hear via comments from any bride-to-be out there planning a wedding or holiday bash in the snow complete with ideas for wrapping herself up . . . .

WINTER PINK
When I was a kid the Sears Christmas Catalog was a big deal for me and each year round about Labor Day I couldn't wait for it to get here. Of course I cruised the toy department over and over till the "Wish Book" as it used to be called was dogeared to death. When I reached my teens, the junior clothes replaced the toys. Winter pastels were the thing when I was in high school. This meant sweaters, plaid skirts, mufflers and gloves in lavenders, blues and of course pink. Looking at the inspirations here, pastels may be just the thing for this winter. I found the ice pink tones here a great add on for everything from decor, table settings to fashion. And if you're looking for real estate don't miss the pink house in the bottom image. A real gemmie . . . .

IN A CLUTCH: LAST MINUTE GIFT IDEAS
I'm looking at the kinds of Etsy gifts I'd love to get. Yes, clutches make great gifts especially for the bride who will be needing to stash lipstick, mints and touch ups on her wedding day (or maybe all those pre-nup parties). You can bestow these little gemmies on bridesmaids, special guests or anyone special in your life who wants something chic and unique.

. . .Over on One Wed Blog talking all about those glorious, glam years of 1950s fashion. Part of the ongoing series called, Time Traveling Brides, we've journeyed thus far through Post WWI and now we're up to studying the looks Audrey, Grace and Jackie immortalized. That includes taking a closer look not only at dresses but a whole slew of vintage and retro-inspired accessories as well. Anyone who has been following me for any length of time knows I'm a vintage 50s fashion junkie, so you can imagine how much I loved researching and writing about these golden years of couture. SCENES FROM A RUSTIC WINTER

Add some ice, wood, white doilies, a few pine cones and you have the start of a marvelous rustic themed winter event. This could be your engagement party, New Years celebration or even a Christmas wedding planned on the fly (yes I do get a couple spur of the moment brides every year). I'm curious, what kind of winter celebration would you put together using the rustic and snow theme . . . .?
