June is the most popular month for weddings.
Originally June was associated with Juno, Roman goddess of marriage. In later times around the 1500 's June was considered a good month. To get ready or May spring harvest celebrations, many folk took their annual bath. In June the bride smelt better than other months, also there were plentiful flowers to mask body odours. (This is where the tradition of the bride carrying flowers originates)
Another benefit of the June wedding was if the bride got pregnant she would still be able to help[ with the fall harvest and once the baby was born would have recovered enough to help with the spring harvest.
June Weddings were held for very practical reasons and is still considered to be lucky.
If you're getting married in June - Congratulations
We hope you have a beautiful day and a long and happy marriage
