EFI AND GIANNI'S VENICE WEDDING
Elopements can be so romantic! Especially if Venice, Italy is the point of destination. For Efi and Gianni, a Greek couple living in Germany, this magnificent city of canals was the perfect place for just the two of them to tie the knot. Shot with a great deal of sensitivity by Venician photographer Luca Faz, the couple left the hotel in Canariggio and after a short 'vaporetto' ride (water bus) they took their vows quietly and intimately at the Greek Consulate. 'A Big, Fat, Greek Wedding' will follow a year from now in their home country. I absolutely adore Efi's civil ceremony-style dress--it's perfect and the lace peplum is a really chic touch.

DE LA RENTA'S BLUES
Here and there amid all the white lace and tulle did anyone notice the oceanic blues Oscar de la Renta incorporated into his Spring 2013 collection? I really love the subtle additions of a satin organza train, the tulle shawl and ruffled over skirt. Even the accessories from earrings to head wreath and bouquets don this complimentary, gentle blue tone. It's the little details like these that are ever changing bridal fashion and I'm just like a kid in a candy store watching it all happen . . .

THE JAZZ AGE BRIDE
Don't you just love looking at Gatsby era inspirations like these? This styled shoot took place at the Church Street Ballroom in Orlando, Florida. Photographer Misty Miotto shot this journey back in time with the help of some savvy wedding professionals lending a collaborative imagination on all the small details. Especially evocative of this carefree era are indeed the details. Check out the ferns on pedestals, the stained glass and bouquets--especially the whimsical mix of Hydrangeas and Ostrich plumes! So fun and a great tribute to the jazz age . . . .!

BLACK AND WHITE IN COLOR
I adore it! Simple and elegant all at once, the clean lines of black and white always proffer a certain sharpness and precision. If you're looking for a strong statement this might just be the palette you're looking for. Add a third color via jewelry, accessories or your bouquet and you'll have a great touch of visual harmony going on . . . .

LET ME CALL YOU SWEETHEART
If you've caught a look at necklines lately you'll agree, the 'Sweetheart' is still ever on trend. Because we still love anything happening 1950s when it comes to bridal couture, this plunging heart shape defining the decolletage will probably hang around designer collections a few more years. A 'Sweetheart' can have a very pronounced heart shape(below) or gently curve (above). Great choice for any bride wanting to frame a pretty face or some cleavage.

SAMPLE SALE ON ETSY
Well, it's that time of year again. While my design studio is packed with a few really great samples from seasons past and I love looking at these gems, bottom line is, we gotta part company and make room for the newbies coming off the work table. For those of you who aren't familiar with how buying a sample works here's the lowdown. Most of the dresses you see here are photographic samples made up for photo shoots and trying on. A few are in fabrics close to but not as ready for prime time as the imported silks custom ordered by clients. Just so you know, a few of them are indeed in yummy 100 percent silks but a couple seasons old, hence the lower price. In any case your sample will be one-of-a-kind and handmade, have couture technique likes hand-picked zipper and hand-tacked linings no machine can emulate. Before I sell these babies rest assured they do go through proper refurbishing and cleaning.
