JANICE AND DAVIN'S AMALFI COAST WEDDING

This is the story of a lovely couple from Vancouver.  They first met in high school and have been together ever since,  Davin proposed to Janice while they were cruising around Alaska and although it was a complete surprise, she did get to pick out the ring of her choice.  Through their mutual love of travel, Janice and Davin decided on the beautiful unspoilt setting of Afrani, situated along Italy's breathtaking Amalfi Coast.  With its narrow winding streets, white-washed houses and azure blue sea, it was the perfect setting; and when the couple saw the ornate Santa Maria Maddalena church (built during the XIII Century by the Atrani people to thank the Virgin Mary), with it's striking tiled bell tower they knew this was the place for them.  Having booked a year in advance, Janice and Davin were married in a traditional catholic ceremony, surrounded by close family and friends.  Afterwards the couple had stylized photos taken (with narrow streets, piazza and staircase providing a beautiful backdrop) before meeting up with their guests for aperitivo, kindly hosted by Luigi of 'Il Birecto Bar', to celebrate their marriage in the Italian sunshine.  Later the wedding party moved to the town of Amalfi, where their sumptuous wedding dinner was served in the private dining room and terrace of 'Trattoria Da Gemma', whose elegant food has been praised by poets since 1872.  There were so many personal touches throughout--the bridal preparations were carried out in a traditional 'borgo' with high ceilings decorated with hand painted frescoes. Also, the bride incorporated her Grandfather's ring in her bouquet.
